The Quaint and Quirky is owned by Claire Yates, an online store, based just outside of Buxton, within the beautiful Peak District National Park.
I sell greeting cards with dog lovers and cat lovers in mind. I have greeting cards based upon Bedlington Terrier dogs, Maine Coon cats, Ragdoll cats and Labradors - to name a few. These are my own quirky illustrations, printed with custom greetings on the front for Father's Day, Mother's Day, Birthday cards for Dog Dads, Cat Mums and more!
I paint whimsical illustrations which are available as framed prints, greeting cards, and as part of letterbox gift sets, which inlcude handpainted bookmarks, keyrings and hanging decorations.
I have a variety of lovely personalised and custom mugs, coasters, tote bags, throw blankets and more. These are all taken from my paintings and illustrations.
I also offer pet portrait commissions in a variety of mediums.
I can paint a quirky illustration of your cat or dog, which is framed with their own character definitions.
I also create more serious commissions in pencil, watercolour, and more recently wooden pet portrait decorations in acrylic.
I have also designed a range of memorial keepsakes, which include paintings with ashes, memorial touch stones for dogs, cats and horses, aswell as small glass bottle urns, which have small hanging pawprint, horse shoe or cat stones.
Commissions, and requests for designs are readily accepted, as my imagination loves to bring an idea to life, and I take great joy in creating paintings, on paper, wood and slate for my customers.
I am an avid pet and nature lover, and am striving towards 100% eco friendly packaging. I now use r100% recycled envelopes and home compostable cello bags for my greeting cards
I re-use any packaging I receive, to ensure it has as long a useful life as possible, and would encourage you to do the same. I am in the process of using up any plastic packaging I have, and am moving towards fully plastic free packaging.
For every Bedlington Terrier greeting card or print sold, a donation is made to Mila's fund, which is a charity dedicated to helping Bedlington Terrier dogs in need. More information can be found here:
