The Quaint and Quirky is a small online business, based in between Leek in Staffordshire and Buxton in Derbyshire, and not too far from Macclesfield in Cheshire, in the hills of the Peak District National Park, owned and run by Claire Yates.

You’ll see as you browse through the shop, that there is a distinction between joyful, fun, illustrative art, which comes from a place of imagination, coupled with a more serious, contemplative style, which is thought provoking and soulful.

Art which is designed to make you smile, filling your heart with happiness, is prevalent through the illustrations in the “Summer” series, based upon my Bedlington Terrier dog, as well as quirky, imaginative illustrations inspired by my cats, nature and the place I’m lucky enough to call home.

Art which is designed to touch your heart in a different, deeper place, comes from various personalised artwork, which include ashes memorial pieces also.

Whichever style you choose to purchase, it’s all Art from the heart, which speaks to my soul.  I hope you find that connection with my work also.

I love what I do, and I want you to love it too!

Eco friendly

All of my greeting cards and prints use plastic free, home compostable cello bags, and my greeting cards all come with envelopes made from 100% recycled paper.

I have moved to fully plastic free packaging, and any plastic used in my packaging is packaging I have reused, rather than discarding.

Designs are available as A6 greeting cards and A4 prints.  Please visit the wholesale section to request your catalogue, order form and price list, or email -

European orders

Please note that due to the complexities surrounding Brexit, I only ship to the UK and outside of the EU from my website, but you can purchase for shipping to Europe via my Etsy shop:

If there is anything on my website not for sale in my Etsy shop which you wish to purchase, please let me know and I can add it for you
